Community Land Connection Series Hike – Earth Day – April 14 11:30-2:30
Colorado is truly a magnificent place, and spring is a magical time in the mountains. Join us to explore the complex and vibrant ecosystems in our back yard and kick off the celebration of Earth Day
Jessica Foulis, EVLT Stewardship and Outreach Manager and Peter Suneson, Walking Mountains Science Center Community Outreach Coordinator, will co-lead a hike exploring Walking Mountains Science Center Buck Creek Conservation Easement and the plants and animals in our backyard. Walking Mountains – Buck Creek is conserved forever through a valuable partnership between Eagle Valley Land Trust, Walking Mountains Science Center, and Eagle County Open Space.
When: The hike will be Saturday, April 14, from 11:30-2:30
Where: We will be meeting at the Walking Mountains Science Center (Avon) front desk and walking from there to the trailhead. Click here for directions.
Bring: We will be encountering unpredictable weather and conditions in the field. Those interested should come prepared to spend two hours outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather, sturdy waterproof shoes, and trekking poles, if desired.
Weather: This hike is weather-dependant, please check EVLT’s Facebook page on the day of the hike for information if there is inclement weather.
This hike is free and open the public but space is limited. Please email jfoulis@evlt.org or call (970) 748-7654 for more information and to reserve your spot. Although we love dogs, not everyone else does, especially wildlife. Please leave your furry friends at home.
