Community Land Connection Series Hike – May 19, 9:00-11:00
Colorado is lucky to have a bounty of public lands within the state boundary. Eagle County is 80% public land. This year on Colorado Public Lands Day, join Eagle County Open Space and Eagle Valley Land Trust to celebrate our public lands and learn more about land conservation and our open space program.
Diane Mauriello, Eagle County Open Space Director, and Jessica Foulis, EVLT Stewardship and Outreach Manager, will co-lead a hike exploring Miller Ranch Community Open Space in Edwards, one of the many beautiful public open spaces in our backyard. Miller Ranch Community Open Space is conserved forever through a valuable partnership between Eagle Valley Land Trust and Eagle County Open Space.
When: Saturday, May 19 9:00-11:00am
Where: Miller Ranch Community Open Space, Edwards (park in the southwest corner of the June Creek Elementary School parking lot). We will be meeting at the June Creek Elementary parking lot and walking from there to the trailhead. Click here for a map.
Bring: We will be encountering unpredictable weather and conditions in the field. Those interested should come prepared to spend two hours outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather, sturdy waterproof shoes, and trekking poles, if desired.
Weather: This hike is weather-dependant, please check EVLT’s Facebook page on the day of the hike for information if there is inclement weather.
This hike is free and open the public but space is limited. Please email jfoulis@evlt.org or call (970) 748-7654 for more information and to reserve your spot. Although we love dogs, not everyone else does, especially wildlife. Please leave your furry friends at home.
