Deirdre Conroy, Community Outreach Program Assistant
Deirdre is a recent (May 2019) graduate in Wildlife Conservation from Virginia Tech with passions for conservation and community. Over the past three years, she has designed and run research projects on the bats and salamanders of Appalachia, jaguars of the tropical rainforests of Belize, and the bats of Grand Canyon National Park. In 2018, she became a Udall Environment Scholar and spent a semester falling in love with the West through Northern Arizona University’s Grand Canyon Semester Program. She is working with the EVLT team this summer as a Community Outreach Program Assistant, where she will be teaching and designing Future Conservationists curriculum, connecting with the community through EVLT’s social media, and assisting with the general running of the organization. She is excited to meet the Eagle County community and encourages folks to come say hello to her at community and tabling events throughout the summer. She’d love to talk about the environment, books, trails, or just to hear your favorite story.
