Eagle Valley Land Trust and Alpine Bank are proud to announce the first ever Farm to Fork Picnic! While the pandemic has altered the nature of EVLT’s most important annual fundraiser, Farm to Fork, we are delighted to report that the show lives on. The format – different; the mingling – apart; but the food – scrumptious; the drinks – as clever as you can make them; the community spirit – palpable.

The Farm to Fork Picnic takes place wherever you choose – your favorite open space, deep in the backcountry, or in your yard, deck, or living room. Gather your family, friends, neighbors, or clients, and anyone else that shares your enthusiasm for local conservation and open space. Take a moment to savor the simple pleasures of the classic picnic – no assembly required; everything you need is provided.

You haven’t seen picnic baskets like these before. They have been lovingly customized, piece by piece, by your friends at EVLT. Each basket comes with exquisite, locally-sourced food for two (click here for menus) from Chef Eric Berg of Vail Catering Concepts (Colorado Columbine Gourmet Picnic Basket and Mountain Paintbrush Picnic Basket) and Chef Zak Stone (Penstemon Appetizer Basket); a printed program; an assortment of picnic-ready, intelligently engineered utensils, supplies, decor, and — of course — your choice of generously donated wine from Dobbes Family Estate and Wine By Joe or beer to match from our friends at Bonfire Brewery. Plus, the insulated basket will serve you for many picnics to come.

The best part? Proceeds from the 2020 Farm to Fork Picnic support EVLT’s efforts to protect the lands that our community depends on. The pandemic has emphasized the importance of recreating as critical components of our physical, mental, and social health. EVLT’s conservation work is more important than ever. Order a basket or several for your group’s picnic, and be sure to purchase a basket for a local family in need of a picnic pick-me-up, a frontline worker, teacher, family member, or someone that has helped you in a special way over the past few months. We’re happy to distribute donated baskets.

How It Works

  1. Order your picnic baskets before August 21, 2020
  2. Pick up your baskets at the drive-through station (Edwards Field House) on the afternoon of August 27, 2020. (Flexible pickup is possible)
  3. Go enjoy a picnic with your group!

There are several ways to donate or “gift” a basket (Feel free to email Bergen@evlt.org for support):

  1. If you would like to donate or gift a basket that you will deliver, simply purchase the basket under your own name.
  2. If you would like to donate or gift a basket to a recipient that can pick up their basket on August 27th, simply purchase the basket and write the recipient’s name in the comment field at checkout.
  3. If you would like to donate a basket, but don’t have a recipient in mind, simply indicate which picnic basket(s) in your cart that you would like to donate. Please also indicate whether you prefer your donated basket to go to a local family, a frontline healthcare worker, a teacher, or another category.

There are an incredible number of organizations and individuals that continue to make a difference in our community. A picnic is a great way to thank them, or help them make a local impact. Some examples include Vail Health, Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement, Mind Springs Health, Bright Futures Foundation, Eagle County Paramedics, Education Foundation of Eagle County, Vail Valley Charitable Fund, Eagle Valley Community Foundation, and local firefighters.

The Farm to Fork Picnic is made possible by the continued support of our sponsors: Alpine Bank, American Gypsum, Balance Point Construction, Wine By Joe, Dobbes Family Estate Wines, FirstBank, Bonfire Brewing, Piney River Ranch, Mountain Rec, Eagle Ranch Golf Club, and the Vail Daily.

Eagle County’s lands, rivers, and open spaces are the foundation of our community, economy, and way of life. Protected lands support us through thick and thin. EVLT’s conservation efforts are funded entirely by donors and advocates like you. Each year, the Farm to Fork gala is a major component of EVLT’s fundraising plan. We hope that you will join us for the first ever Farm to Fork picnic to help move local conservation forward.
