EVLT Community Event

WE ARE FOR finding more ways to connect every generation to the land we love.

Community Land Connection Series

EVLT facilitates nature-based experiences by providing free programs on conserved properties, including guided hikes, horseback rides, snowshoeing, and volunteer restoration projects. The Community Land Connection Series offers an opportunity for individuals and families to experience the great outdoors in a way that feels safe and welcoming to all.

EVLT believes that conserved lands are places that build community, value and embrace diversity, and distribute the benefits of conservation equitably. Through the Community Land Connection Series, we engage residents and visitors in recreational, educational, and stewardship programs that help build authentic, enduring relationships between humans and the land. These programs are often coordinated in partnership with government agencies and nonprofits throughout the valley.

This education and outreach project is possible because of the generous support of our partners including Vail Resorts EpicPromise.

Future Conservationists Program

EVLT partners with youth-serving organizations across the valley to provide opportunities for students of all ages to participate in conservation education, hands-on service learning projects, and nature-based creative play. By hosting these activities on public conservation easements held by EVLT, we help inspire youth to develop a life-long appreciation for the benefits of land conservation, including open space, wildlife habitat, cultural preservation, and public recreation.

EVLT is proud to collaborate with other organizations to deliver the Future Conservationists program, including Walking Mountains Science CenterYouthPower365The Cycle EffectHomestead Court Club Kids ProgramsBright Futures Foundation Buddy Mentors ProgramSOS Outreach, and Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement. Land Stewardship Series

EVLT teams up with public and private landowners to provide opportunities for community members to give back to the land. Through our Land Stewardship Series, volunteers can participate in projects such as barbed wire removal, habitat restoration, wildfire mitigation, invasive species removal, and litter cleanups. These projects serve a critical role in protecting the beauty, resiliency, and healthy functioning of our local landscapes.

EVLT collaborates with landowners throughout the valley, including Eagle County, Town of Gypsum, Town of Eagle, Town of Avon, Town of Minturn, Town of Vail, Edwards Metropolitan District, and private landowners. Please contact stewardship@evlt.org for more information and to propose a volunteer stewardship project.
