Community Land Connection Series: EVLT/EVOM Restoration Day at Sweetwater Lake (August 10th)
Followers of the Sweetwater Lake Campaign know it’s been a process getting this iconic property conserved, forever. Many of you may have even turned out for the project with the United States Forest Service back in June. Yet believe it or not, there’s still some work to be done.
That’s why EVLT and the Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement are teaming up for another workday to tidy up some loose ends. We’ll be helping Adrienne of AJ Brinks Outfitters with brush removal and clearing. Come on out to learn more about the Sweetwater campaign, our organizations, some outlaw history from Adrienne — and get your hands dirty all at once. Lunch is on us!
For more details, and to sign up, read below. Looking forward to seeing you out there.
When: Tuesday, August 10th 10am-1pm
Where: Sweetwater Lake
Bring: We will be encountering unpredictable weather and conditions in the field. Those interested should come prepared to spend all day outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather, working clothes and sturdy hiking/work boots. Although we love dogs, they can have an impact, especially for wildlife. Please leave your furry friends at home. If you have a set of work gloves, safety glasses, and/or loppers, please bring them.
Lunch will be provided by the Eagle Valley Land Trust.
Weather: This event is weather-dependent, please check EVLT’s Facebook page on the day of the event for information if there is inclement weather.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please email community@evlt.org.
