Join Eagle Valley Land Trust, Eagle County Historical Society, and Eagle County Open Space on a guided hike at beautiful Horn Ranch. Learn about the fascinating history of the Horn Ranch sandstone quarry and the larger-than-life characters who lived and worked on the ranch. This is a rare opportunity to visit private land. Don’t miss it!
When: Wednesday, June 18 from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Where: Horn Ranch in between Eagle and Wolcott. We’ll meet in the parking area on the north side of Highway 6.
What to expect: Dress for the season in appropriate layers and wear sturdy shoes to walk on uneven, rocky terrain that is steep in areas. The first half mile will be on a flat, dirt road. From there, we’ll have a short but steep hike up to the quarry site. The ascent to the lookout points on the cliff has some rocky and loose sections.
Cost: Free. Registration is required.
