Community Land Connection Seasonal Program: Summer Solstice Forest Bathing

June 20 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Celebrate the summer solstice with a calming and reinvigorating forest bathing experience with Eagle Valley Land Trust!

The concept of forest bathing emerged from the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, or “taking in the forest atmosphere.” At its core, forest bathing means spending time immersed in nature, consciously connecting with the sights, sounds, and smells all around you.

Trained forest bathing guides Mike Santambrogio and Jane West will offer a series of invitations to help us reawaken our senses and welcome in the healing powers of nature. The practice will leave you feeling renewed and reconnected. Don’t miss this opportunity to unplug and unwind in one of the most beautiful places in all of Colorado.

When: Thursday, June 20 from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Where: Sweetwater Lake north of Dotsero, CO. We’ll meet in the campground area on the southeast shore.

What to expect: Dress for the season in appropriate layers (a waterproof layer is recommended) and wear sturdy shoes to walk on uneven terrain. We will primarily be standing, sitting, and walking at a leisurely pace.

Cost: This program is free thanks to the Sweetwater Stewardship and Equity Fund, which aims to reduce barriers to accessing Sweetwater Lake. Registration is required.

This rain-or-shine program is intended for humans only. While we love dogs, we kindly ask that you leave your furry friends at home.
