EVLT & EVOM Snowshoe Drive

Despite a laggardly start to winter in Colorado, the joys of snowy recreation are here. From skiing to snowball fights to snowball fights while skiing, there’s no shortage of fun to be had. Yet there’s also a necessary realization that winter activities are different from summer’s; without the right equipment and expertise, venturing outside can be difficult for some. It’s a real barrier to enjoying the benefits of nature from November through April.
Eagle Valley Land Trust is striving to make conserved open spaces accessible to all members of our community, snow or shine. That’s why we are teaming up with the Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement to make it happen. Our approach is two-fold. First, we are hosting bi-weekly workshops aimed at showing the where, what, and how of playing outside in the wintertime. Second – and this is where we need your help – by starting a gear drive for lightly used winter gear, so that everyone has the opportunity to go exploring!
We are in search of used snowshoes, ice skates, cross country skis and boots, and poles. Please donate your gently used – or purchase some new ones for EVOM – and help us make open spaces accessible to everyone in our community. We’re hoping to reach 10 pairs or snowshoes and 10 pairs of skates by the end of February. Will you consider helping us reach that goal?
