Miller Ranch Community Open Space

An abundance of local citizens and local groups use this incredible tract of open space on a daily basis. Whether it’s neighbors meeting for walks with their dogs, parents strolling together with their kids, or local sports teams training for their athletic endeavors, Miller Ranch Community Open Space is one of the most visited parcels of open space in Eagle County’s mid-valley region. This beautiful property includes approximately one mile of Eagle River frontage. It’s home to beavers, river otters, bald eagles, and wintering elk.

For years, the residents of Edwards, Arrowhead, and surrounding communities had rallied for the permanent protection of this property. The 32-acre parcel on Edwards’ east side, just north of the River Ranch and River Dance neighborhoods, was the last remaining undisturbed piece of the former Miller Family Ranch. The property was previously a working cattle ranch and in recent years was home to our weekly summer rodeo. The on-site stables and pastureland housed many steeds owned by Eagle County citizens.

Miller Ranch Community Open Space was once a much larger parcel of open space, but many acres were lost to housing development. The protection of the property ensures that this much beloved stretch of land on the valley floor will remain undisturbed forever.
