Duck Pond Open Space is a beautiful and easily accessible open space, and includes access to the Eagle River, the bike path, and some hunting opportunities. In recent years usage has increased, leading to many impacts, such as increased trash. As a result, Eagle Valley Land Trust (EVLT), the Eagle River Watershed Council, and Eagle County Open Space are working together on this project to help solve these issues. This event is part of the Watershed Council’s Eagle River cleanup, and all volunteers are welcome to join the Thank You BBQ after, from 12-3. Please register for the BBQ separately here.

Duck Pond Open Space is protected forever through a partnership between Eagle County and the Eagle Valley Land Trust.

When: Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (BBQ after! See above)

Where: Duck Pond Open Space

Bring: We will be encountering unpredictable weather and conditions in the field. Those interested should come prepared to spend three hours outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather, sturdy waterproof shoes, gloves, and appropriate clothing. Snacks and drinks will be provided, and please bring your own bottle if possible.

Weather: This event is weather-dependent. Please check EVLT’s Facebook page on the day of the hike for information if there is inclement weather.

This event is open to the public, but space is limited. Please email stewardship@evlt.org or call (970) 748-7654 for more information or if you have questions. Although we love dogs, not everyone else does, especially wildlife. Please leave your furry friends at home.
