Community Land Connection Series: Where the Land Meets the River
Protecting land is key to protecting our local rivers. Join us to learn about what riparian plants are and why they are so important.
Peter Wadden, Town of Vail Watershed Education Coordinator, Michael Pleimling, Eagle River Watershed Council Projects and Events Coordinator, and Jessica Foulis, EVLT Stewardship and Outreach Manager, will co-lead a hike on the Meadow Creek conservation easement in Vail.
When: The hike will be Friday, August 18 from 11:30am – 1:30pm
Where: Meadow Creek conservation easement – we will be meeting at Stephens Park in Vail.
Directions: From Exit 173 on Interstate-70
Drive West on South Frontage Road about 0.5 miles
Stephens Park will be on your left
Bring: We will be hiking in variable conditions. Those interested should come prepared to spend two hours outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather and sturdy waterproof shoes.
Weather: This hike is weather-dependent, please check EVLT’s Facebook page on the day of the hike for information on updates or cancellations in case of inclement weather.
This hike is free and open to the public but space is limited. Please email jfoulis@evlt.org or call (970) 748-7654 for more information and to reserve your spot. Although we love dogs, not everyone else does, especially wildlife. Please leave your furry friends at home.
