2023 CLC Restoration Series: Fence Removal at Eagle River Preserve (August 4)
Join EVLT and Eagle County Open Space for a morning of fence removal at Eagle River preserve in Edwards from 9:00 am to 11:30 am on Friday, August 4th. Old fencing inhibits wildlife by causing injuries and limiting their movement, and removing it from the landscape has tangible and rewarding results. Come help remove some fencing and support our local wildlife. This event was rescheduled from its original date in June.
Eagle River Preserve is protected forever through a partnership between Eagle County and the Eagle Valley Land Trust.
When: Friday, August 4, 2023, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am
Where: Eagle River Preserve
Bring: We will be encountering unpredictable weather and conditions in the field. Those interested should come prepared to spend three hours outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather, sturdy waterproof shoes, gloves, and clothing appropriate for removing wire. Please bring your own wire cutters or tools, too if you happen to have them, as we have limited fence-cutting supplies. Food and drinks will be provided, and please bring your own bottle if possible.
Weather: This event is weather-dependent. Please check EVLT’s Facebook page or on Instagram (@eaglevalleylandtrust) on the day of the event for information if there is inclement weather.
This event is open to the public, but space is limited. Please email stewardship@evlt.org or call (970) 748-7654 for more information or if you have questions. Although we love dogs, not everyone else does especially wildlife. Please leave your furry friends at home.
