Community Land Connection Hike Series: Living with Colorado’s Wildlife

Location: Eagle River Preserve, Edwards

Elk on Eagle River Preserve

Colorado is home to amazing wildlife. Join us to learn how we can good neighbors to our wild community. Specifically, we will be talking about elk.

Bill Andree, Colorado Parks and Wildlife District Wildlife Manager, and Jessica Foulis, EVLT Stewardship and Outreach Manager, will co-lead a hike on Eagle River Preserve.

When: The hike will be Friday, April 28, from 11:30-1:30

Where: We will be meeting in the Eagle River Preserve parking lot.

Directions: From Exit 163 on Interstate-70
Drive south on Edwards Access Road and US Route 6
At the traffic light, turn right onto US Route 6
Eagle River Preserve will be on your right in about 0.5 miles

 

Bring: We will be hiking in variable conditions. Those interested should come prepared to spend two hours outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather, sturdy waterproof shoes, snowshoes or yaktrax and trekking poles, if desired, and a lunch to enjoy in the field.

Weather: This hike is weather-dependant, please check EVLT’s Facebook page on the day of the hike for information if there is inclement weather.
