Community Land Connection Hike Series: Open Space and You – Sustainable Trails
Location: Homestead Conservation and Public Recreation Project, Edwards CO
Eagle County has an amazing Open Space Program. Join us to learn more about Open Space and trails.
Phillip Kirkman, Eagle County Open Space Ranger, and Jessica Foulis, EVLT Stewardship and Outreach Manager, will co-lead a hike on Homestead’s redesigned trail.
When: The hike will be Friday, March 17, from 11:30-1:30
Where: We will be meeting in the Homestead Conservation and Public Recreation Project parking lot.
Directions: From the Edwards exit on Interstate-70
Head south on Edwards Access Road and US Route 6
Edwards Access Road becomes Edwards Village Boulevard (a loop)
Turn Left on Homestead Drive
Turn Right on Cameron Place – the parking lot is at the end of this road
Bring: We will be hiking in both packed and unconsolidated snow. Those interested should come prepared to spend two hours outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather, sturdy waterproof shoes, snowshoes or yaktrax and trekking poles, if desired, and a lunch to enjoy in the field.
Weather: This hike is weather-dependant, please check EVLT’s Facebook page on the day of the hike for information if there is inclement weather.
