Community Land Connection Series – Nature Hike
Join Eagle Valley Land Trust Stewardship Manager, Jessica Foulis, Town of Vail Watershed Education Coordinator, Peter Wadden, and Eagle River Watershed Council Projects and Events Coordinator, Brooke Ranney, as we explore Meadow Creek Open Space and the connection between land and water. We will be talking about the importance of Eagle County’s snowpack for the Eagle and Colorado Rivers, as well as the ongoing efforts of the Town of Vail to restore Gore Creek and the Watershed Council’s work beyond. The hike will be Friday morning, January 27, from 9:30-11:30 AM and will focus on a different relevant theme in each location. Hikes are free and open to the public. Those interested should come prepared to spend 2 hours outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather, sturdy waterproof shoes, snowshoes or yaktrax and trekking poles if desired. We will be hiking in both packed and unconsolidated snow. Hikes are weather dependent, please check EVLT’s Facebook page on the day of the hike for information if there is inclement weather. Please email jfoulis@evlt.org for more information and to reserve your spot.
