Community Land Connection Series – Mni Wiconi: Water is Life – Thursday, August 6th, 2020
Join Susie Kincade from Women’s Empowerment Workshop to discuss the values of riparian areas to wildlife, some Eagle River history, and a sensory walk that ends with water blessing on the banks of the river. The Duck Ponds are preserved forever through a partnership between Eagle Valley Land Trust, Eagle County Open Space and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
When: Thursday, August 6th, 2020, 5:30 – 7:30pm
Where: Duck Ponds, Gypsum
Bring: We will be encountering unpredictable weather and conditions in the field. Those interested should come prepared to spend two hours outside with sun protection, water, proper layers for Colorado weather, sturdy waterproof shoes, and trekking poles, if desired. In accordance with the current public health order, we ask that you please bring a face covering and hand sanitizer.
Weather: This hike is weather-dependent, please check EVLT’s Facebook page on the day of the hike for information if there is inclement weather.
This hike is free and open to the public but space is limited. Please email community@evlt.org for more information and to reserve your spot. Although we love dogs, not everyone else does, especially wildlife. Please leave your furry friends at home. Additionally, if you are feeling sick or experiencing symptoms, we ask that you please stay home.
